Hogberg has reportedly signed an NHL contract, Steve Warne of the Hockey News reports.

Hogberg last played in the NHL during the 2020-21 season, going 4-7-0 with a 3.74 GAA and an .876 save percentage for the Senators. The Senators released him after the season and he returned to Sweden to play for Linkopings of the SHL. Hogberg was 21-18-0 with a 2.51 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 2023-24. Linkopings said in the team's statement releasing Hogberg from his contract, that he has signed with an unnamed NHL team.

An injury to Matt Murray resulted in Hogberg seeing 14 games worth of NHL action this past season, far more than anyone could have initially expected. The results weren't promising (4-7-0, 3.74 GAA, .876 save percentage) and Hogberg, not liking the offers he received as an unrestricted free agent, elected to sign a four-year deal with Linkoping in his native Sweden. Never say never, but it's unlikely we see the 26-year-old return to North America at any point in the future.
